Altec Valencia 846B Restoration Part 1 - Cabinet Repair & Refinishing w/ New Veneer & Danish Oil

In this video I take a pair of trashed Altec 846B walnut veneered speaker cabinets and attempt to restore them to acceptable condition. I was not able to rescue the top surfaces so I opted to apply new veneer to the tops only. I conclude the video by applying a coat of brown paint to the back surfaces to bring everything together. Stay tuned for Part 2 where I reconstruct the missing risers, reload the components, and create a custom set of grills. Note: I am not a professional when it comes to furniture repair. I know enough to be dangerous with this type of thing. My area of expertise is vintage electronics repair. Always check with an experienced woodworker before attempting any of the techniques shown in this video on your own projects.
