LA CUMBRE más ÉPICA de Monterrey | Pico Indio, SPGG.

This week's adventure took me to the summit known as Pico UDEM—also called Pico Indio—a 1,660-meter peak with a challenging 4.5-kilometer route. It's a short but intense trek: a steep climb with cliffs hundreds of meters high that offer spectacular panoramic views of Monterrey. The trail begins among mesquite trees and shrubs, dotted with a few oak trees, and gradually transforms into a lush forest. The path is confusing and winding, so knowing your way around is key to reaching the summit. From the top, you can see Cerro de la Silla, Mitras, and on clear days, even the northern edge of the city. To the west, the highway to Saltillo stretches like a scar between mountains, just before disappearing over the horizon. Alongside this vista rises the imposing La Huasteca mountain range, part of the Cumbres de Monterrey National Park: pure nature, just 15 minutes from the city. At the summit, I share an important reflection on the conservation of these natural spaces, because I'm convinced that Monterrey has everything it needs to rival the world's great cities, as long as we take care of what makes it unique. Along the way, I also discovered a cave with very peculiar rock formations, an unexpected find that added a magical touch to the adventure. A journey I undertook alone in less than six hours, to answer a single question: 👉 Is this Monterrey's most iconic viewpoint? Join me to find out. 📍Location: 🎒 Adventure and editing: Andrés Drexel 📸 Instagram: @drexelandreu ☕ Support me on Ko-fi: ko-fi.com/andresdrexel #AdventureInMonterrey #PicoUDEM #PicoIndio #LaHuasteca #CumbresDeMonterrey #HikingMonterrey #AndresDrexel #NortheasternAdventures #MexicanNature #HikingMexico #MonterreyMountains #ExploreNuevoLeón #OutdoorMexico #MonterreyViewpoints #fifa2026
