Remembering Shaniya Davis in Cumberland County
In 2009, the death of 5-year-old Shaniya Davis gripped the entire Cumberland County community. The case helped shine light on the issue of child abuse and neglect. Now, Cumberland County is the first county in North Carolina to develop a Community Child Abuse Prevention Plan. Generous support for this series is provided by UNC-School of Government and Civic Federal Credit Union.
