In the TCG *Magic: The Gathering*, the "Commander" format has been gaining global prominence in recent years. In Japan, this format has long been known as "Commander" or "EDH." However, the Wizards of the Coast Japan team has announced a policy to standardize the name to "Commander." At the same time, a project team, "Japan Commander Next," has been launched to further promote Commander culture in Japan.
