Kim Seo-kwon Exodus 18:1-12 1 Then Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father-in-law, heard about all that God had done for Moses and for His people Israel—all that the LORD had done to bring Israel out of Egypt. 2 Then Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took with him his wife Zipporah, whom Moses had sent back, 3 and his two sons. One was named Gershom, for Moses said, “I am a stranger in a foreign land.” 4 The other was named Eliezer, for the God of my father helped me and saved me from the sword of Pharaoh. 5 Then Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, came into the wilderness with Moses’ sons and his wife and came to Moses, where Moses had encamped on the mountain of God. 6 He said to Moses, “I, Jethro, your father-in-law, have come to you with your wife and the two sons who are with her.” 7 Then Moses went out and met his father-in-law, bowed down to him, and kissed him. Then they greeted one another and went into the tent together. 8 And Moses heard about all that the LORD had done for Israel against Pharaoh and the Egyptians, and And they told their father-in-law all the troubles they had suffered on the way and how the LORD had saved them. 9 Jethro rejoiced that the LORD had shown all grace to Israel and delivered them from the hand of the Egyptians. 10 He said, “Blessed be the LORD! He has delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of Pharaoh; He has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians. 11 Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods, and has overcome those who acted arrogantly toward Israel.” 12 Then Moses’ father-in-law Jethro brought a burnt offering and a sacrifice to God, and Aaron and all the elders of Israel came and ate bread with Moses’ father-in-law in the presence of God.
