He started playing guitar at age 12 and began working as a guitar instructor at age 19. He began uploading YouTube lesson videos in 2009, and in 2011, his email newsletter, MagMag, gained 4,000 subscribers and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He began his musical career in March 2015, traveling all over Japan, from Sapporo to Okinawa. In 2015, his YouTube channel surpassed 100,000 subscribers. In 2016, he began working as the acoustic duo Utaist. In 2018, he opened the Utaist Cafe in Sagamihara. He's a mysterious man who's prolific in many areas, including writing instructional books, supervising games, supporting TV shows, arranging music, and giving lessons.
