2014 Q200 Speed Test 720P
Speed check for the Q200 aircraft. Full power at 3000' DA (2000' on a 80F day) with 2 cameras mounted on the wing tip and an oil cooler pulling in excessive air. Also I forgot to set the aileron reflexer up which can give 4 mph more. The engine is a tired old 0-200A with 100 hp on a good day. All in all this is still a fast airplane! I calculate 193 mph at 3000' so it should do around 200 mph at sea level and 59F. These are GPS speeds and the wind was from the west. By flying 360 degress, 240 degrees, 120 degrees and averaging the speeds you get the true speed (takes out the wind component). Swann Freestyle cameras used, Dashware software to add the data from a GPS tracker to the video. Shot in 720P. Pinnacle Studio 17 used for the final edit. Click "like" so I keep making videos!
