Lixing Industrial Road | Episode 2 Twenty-five years ago, I stood beneath the Wuling archway as a recent college graduate. Twenty-five years later, I returned on my Triumph Scrambler 400 XC. This journey follows Taiwan's legendary Lixing Industrial Road (County Road 89), passing Qingjing, Cuifeng, Wuling Pass, Dayuling, and finally entering Taroko Gorge via the Central Cross-Island Highway. Along the way, I revisited places filled with memories, challenged one of Taiwan's roughest mountain roads, and witnessed how Taroko continues to recover after the 2024 Hualien earthquake. More than a motorcycle adventure, this ride became a conversation across twenty-five years—with the mountains, with the changing landscape, and with the younger version of myself.
