Indulgence 2

What if the greatest threat to your faith isn’t persecution or doubt—but manipulated desires?   In 1 John 2:15–17, John pulls back the curtain on the world system that quietly competes for our love. Not just obvious evil, but the subtle pull of desire: what we crave, what we consume, and what we take pride in. He calls it “the world,” and warns us not to love it. John exposes the trap of indulgence, the illusion of lasting satisfaction, and the hard truth that everything the world offers is fading. But in its place, he points us toward something stronger, deeper, and eternal.
