DBT from a Christian Perspective
This class discusses Dialectical Behavior Therapy from a Christian and neuological research perspective. DBT was originally developed as an approach for counseling Borderline Personality Disorder which is typified by extreme emotional volatility, impulsivity, cutting, and suicidal behavior out of a fear of abandonment. Today this group of emotional control and mediation techniques is widely used in counseling. They include distress tolerance skills, mindfulness skills, interpersonal effectiveness skills, and emotional regulation skills. This class is a part of a course on Advanced Counseling Skills originally presented at Word of Life Counseling Training Institute. Additional courses and low cost certifications and college degrees in Christian Counseling are available at www.freechristiancounselingcounselingtraining.com.
