Just recently, Chicago Tribune interviewed Col. Sanders' nephew. During the interview, he accidentally revealed a handwritten recipe with the original 11 spices. A lot of people have tried this and found this is not exact. There's a 12th spice. Watch the video to find out what it is. Also, the chicken needs to be brined in salt water for at least 6 hours prior. Some people tried to soak them in buttermilk. It wouldn't make a difference as we would dip them in egg and milk mixture prior to coating them with the spices mix. Here's the list of the original 11 spices.
