Hong Kong Buses - Discovery Bay and Kwoon Chung Roundup 2015

2015 saw the arrival of double deckers in two fleets which had previously had very few or none at all. Kwoon Chung took delivery of 14 handsome MAN A95s with Malaysian Gemilang bodywork, split between their contract hire fleet (9) and New Lantao Bus (5). Surprisingly, Discovery Bay - usually loyal customers of MAN - took Volvo B9TLs instead, after testing a number of vehicles to reassure themselves that double deckers would not foul the overhang at Discovery Bay Bus Station. Kwoon Chung also took four MAN LE 19.320s for NLB, with yellow roofs for use around Chek Lap Kok Airport, two of which are seen here. The video also shows one of the two Chinese battery electric buses (117) bought new in late 2014 with Government funding.
