ARMENIAN LIFE: Abovyan city

We travel to Abovyan, the nearest city to Yerevan in Kotayk region. Mrs Mitch discovers her old school where she studied for 2 months in the Soviet era. Then we visited a beautiful new Cathedral - Surb Hovhannes (Saint John) Church. I talk about some issues affecting our young people; ie smoking, vaping, misuse of social media, the changing behaviour of young people using public transport and littering - particularly in Yerevan. We then take a stroll down the main street: Republican Avenue and show some street sellers and taste some local pastry: Khachapuri Abovyan city has turned into a very nice place (according to Mrs Mitch) and offers a viable alternative to Yerevan, especially for those wishing to escape the crazy traffic, whilst still being very close to the capital.
