Showreel Alessandro Sollima

ALESSANDRO SOLLIMA (IT) is a Brussels-based dance performer, teacher, and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in the performing arts. He began his dance journey with urban styles (Funk and hip-hop) in Sicily, where he is from, and later specialized in contemporary dance from 2009 to 2014. He attended the “MoDem” professional course directed by Roberto Zappalà, the NSCD Northern School of Contemporary Dance (UK), and graduated from SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (AT). Throughout his career, Alessandro has collaborated with numerous dance companies and stage directors across Europe. Early in his career, he worked with Simone Forti at the Museum der Moderne in Salzburg. In the same year, he joined Milan Tomášik & Co, where he created and performed three different works while also assisting the choreographer in workshops and creations until 2020. Currently, he maintains stable collaborations with Cie. Thor (Thierry Smits, BE) and Stephan Herwig (DE), contributing to groundbreaking work in contemporary dance. Deepening his artistic practice, Alessandro began choreographing, creating solo works and collaborations with other dance artists. His work has been supported by Life Long Burning - ImPulsTanz (AT), Cullberg Ballet (SE), Network Anticorpi XL (IT), Scenario Pubblico (IT), and Akropoditi Dance Center (GR). In addition to performing and choreographing, Alessandro has been a guest teacher at various professional courses and festivals, including Fontys ACaPA Academy of Circus and Performing Arts (NL), SOZO Visions in Motion (DE), SEAD (AT), Revés (CR), Scenario Atelier (IT), Collettivo MoDem (IT), and the 9th International Art Laboratory (BG). He is also the founder of TASSY, an innovative online platform dedicated to supporting and enhancing the cultural sector in Belgium.
