In the history books, there was a time when not everything was great and successful as today. In the late 1980s, Durst stood on the edge of collapse: the buroc…bankruptcy. Where many would have walked away or chosen the safer or easier way, Christof Oberrauch did the opposite. He bought out family shareholders, mortgaged the family home, and as a recently widowed father with two young kids, took a risk when almost everyone advised: not do it! He saw something that others could not see. A vision for Durst's future. All in. And won. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that his vision was never only about business success. It was about building a company culture based on long-term thinking, integrity, responsibility, and the most important thing: respect for people.
