Review: Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale 2025
Robert Hall reflects on a memorable Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale, which once again yielded the top priced Store sold anywhere this year. The sale recorded its highest turnover since 2022, while the average increased to €53,261, an 11 per cent improvement on 2024's figure. The median also increased significantly, showing a 13 per cent rise on 2024 to €43,000, while four lots made over €200,000, the quartet achieving the distinction of being the highest priced three-year-old Stores sold in a sale ring in 2025. The final figures reveal that 38 lots made over €100,000 or more, while day two produced the best-ever turnover for a single session at the Derby Sale, topping €10 million for the first time.
