A Success That Crosses Borders Gonzalo Lafourcade, originally from our region, shared details of the outstanding participation of the "Tierra Adentro" dance group in the Turkish festival circuit. After performing in Northern Cyprus and winning the Yalova Festival, the Uruguayan delegation is currently in the city of Bursa, preparing for new competitive challenges. Lafourcade, who explained that his primary profession is medicine and that he doesn't usually dance, described the experience of representing his country on such a distant stage as "unique." The competition includes the participation of 15 countries from around the world. The Delegation and Local Talent The group "Tierra Adentro" began rehearsing approximately a year and a half ago with this international tour in mind. It comprises a strong delegation of artists, including three representatives from the Río Negro department: Dance Troupe: The dance ensemble consists of 16 dancers (8 couples) under the direction of Carlos Bortagaray. Río Negro Presence: In addition to Gonzalo in the dance troupe, the Río Negro representation is completed by Piero Vittori (violin) and Juan Manuel Nosetti (audiovisual and photography). Live Music: The performances are accompanied by singer Catherine Vergnes and her band, which includes Santiago Soares, Mauricio Cavallón, the duo of Piero and Horacio (accordion), and Nicolás on percussion. Next Steps on the Tour After participating in the opening parade through the streets of Bursa and giving a three-minute formal performance, the group is preparing for the main days of the competition, which will take place this Saturday and Sunday.
