Matheus Philip - Songs for a Video, Vol. 1 | Official Album Stream

Here's what many were in need: an official stream of songs from the album "Songs for a Video, Vol. 1"! In fact, these are songs for a video... literally. The creator of the project is called Yoshi here on YouTube and, for the debut of his new YouTube channel, he decided to hire me as a musician for the soundtrack of his video, in which I am very pleased to have participated. That's exactly why the name of the album is what it is. There is no secret. But, that's it. I hope you like it! Now, the references. I can't lie in any way that the soundtrack created by Dan Salvato in Doki Doki Literature Club inspired both "Let's Write It" and "Rendezvous". "Loading Karma!" and "Wandering Aimlessly" are almost failed attempts to make Lo-Fi, so much so that my distributor postulated it as "New Age Music" and not Lo-Fi. At least it sounds cool. For the B-side of the album, I thought of something more classic and modern at the same time. "Heraclitus' River" was entirely inspired by "Substitute Invasion (身代わりの侵入)" by Shiro Sagisu's "The End of Evangelion" Original Soundtrack and Pink Floyd's "The Great Gig in the Sky". I don't have exact references or inspirations for "Snowflakes". It just flowed. "Arjuna's Fear" has a hint of Erik Satie's avant-garde orchestral piece "Parade" in the beginning and the loving and passionate romantic romanticism of Earth's last romantic, Piano Concerto No. 2, Mov. II by Sergei Rachmaninoff while you're feeling that the world is ending while attracted by a supermassive black hole. "The New Queen" is just the isolated piano of "Arjuna's Fear"'s orchestral work by me. And yup, it's entirely instrumental, it doesn't have any vocals (for now). My new project will revenge it and, yes, I'll sing, but not now.
