The Indiana Jones Story Chapter V · 1993-2008 Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull To support my work, please visit the Tipeee page or use the YouTube tips option! I am the author of the book ‘Indiana Jones - Explorer of the Past’, published by Third Editions. As a huge fan of the saga in all its forms - films, series, comics, games, novels - I wanted to write the most comprehensive, well-documented, in-depth book on George Lucas' character possible, and to offer this work in the form of a series of videos. In this fifth chapter, I look back at the creation of the fourth Indiana Jones film, which began in 1993 and lasted until its release in 2008. The film marks a break with the trilogy of the 1980s and raises many questions about the place of Indiana Jones at the time of his adventure - the 1950s - but also about the hero at the time of the film's release, the 2000s. Unloved, even hated, it ended up acting more like a before-and-after in the career of George Lucas, who gave in to the appeals of the Disney group a few years later, and of Steven Spielberg, who in the end never directed the fifth opus. It's an opportunity to look back at the film's long development, its production, the details of its shooting, its release and its reception by the public, as well as to analyse its themes and content, and to understand why this opus is objectively very good, while still having some very big flaws... like its MacGuffin. __________________________ Chapters 00:00 Introduction 01:30 Steven Spielberg on Indiana Jones 02:09 Part 1 - Indiana Jones Never Dies 05:59 The Team Reunited & Project Launch 09:53 Script Finalisation & Pre-Production 18:50 Shooting Begins & Comic Con Appearance 28:18 Part 2 - A Bygone Era 32:28 In Search of Lost Enthusiasm 35:28 Jump the Shark vs. Nuke the Fridge 40:59 Part 3 - Unleashing Heroism 44:17 Akator or Brazilian Murder Case 46:16 What's left of Indiana Jones 4? 53:01 Conclusion & End Credits __________________________ Find me on the web Twitter:   / romaindasnoy   Twitch:   / macguffinmaker   Instagram:   / romaindasnoy   Tipeee: https://fr.tipeee.com/MacGuffin __________________________ Credits Written, directed and presented by Romain Dasnoy With the participation of Vivien Lejeune Credits arranged by the Neko Light Orchestra Recorded, performed and mixed by Alexandre Bertrand Solo violin played by Gaëlle Durand Original music composed by John Van Tongeren & Mark Mancina (1995) Original illustration (banner) by Nick Stath Filmed at the Grand Rex, Paris, France, September 2022 Acknowledgements Alexandre Hellmann, Flavien Appavou, Nicolas Chaccour In Dude We Trust.
