Launched in 2016 as the Bombardier CSeries, the A220 has earned rave reviews from both casual passengers and aviation enthusiasts. Outwardly, I love that it resembles the Boeing 737-200, an aircraft I grew up on. Inside, though, it features comfortably sized seats, generous headroom, and large windows—hallmarks of modern passenger design. Like the Douglas DC-9, middle seats are only on one side of the aisle. The A220 replaced the Embraer E190 in the JetBlue fleet due to its improved economics. I ended up flying on the exact same aircraft, down to the tail number, on my return flights to DC.
