Book Review: 'This Is What It Sounds Like' by Susan Rogers
This is one of the best holistic views of how we perceive and enjoy music I've read, a truly mind-expanding journey. Lead author Susan Rogers is a star recording engineer and producer turned neuroscientist. Her approach is to outline seven dimensions of music with an overview, copious examples and connections to what modern brain science has discovered about perception and emotional understanding. I loved it but watch to find out why. Here is the book's website where you can find a list of her examples, linked to streaming services so you can easily find them: https://www.thisiswhatitsoundslike.com/
