1500miles in a Tiny Speedboat #13 - To Scotland

Charlie and I continue our leg from Wales to Scotland in Goodwin, the tiny 4m speedboat. In this episode we pickup where we left off, waking up in Barrow-In-Furness, inside the walls of Piel castle on Piel Island. We bounce North in our tiny rigid inflatable boat. Calling in at Whitehaven before landing in Scotland on the Galloway coast. We spend the night on tiny Murrey's Island and wake up early to make it around the treacherous Mull of Galloway. We drop in for fuel at Portpatrick and from nowhere a generous lift to the petrol station in Stranraer is provided by the old harbour master. With full tanks we head up into the Firth of Clyde and around the isle of Arran before heading to look at the castle on Wee Cumbrae. It's a tiny island and after seeing some people in the garden of the big house we are given kind permission to spend the night inside the ancient keep. The island is private but in the process of opening up for visitors to stay in the main house. A big thank you to the caretakers for being so helpful and welcoming. From Little Cumbrae we head to Great Cumbrae, Largs Marina and then on a loop around Bute and then Loch Fyne. We head to the top of the Loch and reach Inveraray but it's low tide and there's no real place to moor up. We head down through the night and end up at the beginning of the Crinan canal.
