SCAMP - Landscape Connections Introduction

Solway Coast and Marine Project- Landscape Connections is an ambitious landscape restoration project which focuses on 210miles of the Solway coast. Its ambition is to restore 5 habitats: native oysters, seagrasses, saltmarsh, sand dunes, and coastal woodlands. Led by Dumfries and Galloway Council Environment Team and delivered through a partnership of south of Scotland nature-based organisations comprising Solway Firth Partnership, Galloway Fisheries Trust, D&G Woodlands, Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere, Crichton Carbon Centre, RSPB, and Southern Uplands Partnership. The National Lottery Heritage Fund through their Landscape Connections grant programme is the main funding partner with an award up to £8million. SCAMP is the first project in the UK to be funded from the new programme. Additional funding has been secured from the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal, Holywood Trust, Dumfries and Galloway SWESTRANS, South of Scotland Enterprise, SEPA and Dumfries and Galloway Council.
