My 2018 Can-Am Commander Limited 1000R has a factory Polycarbonate (aka plastic) windshield. While these windshields have advantages over glass the disadvantages are they get scratched with use and discolored with age. In this video I’m going to show you step by step how-to restore a plastic windshield using a product specifically made for plastic and a random, orbital buffer. It’s a three step kit by Novus. I’ll talk about the best way to take care of your windshield and the correct way to restore, polish, an older windshield. While it can be done by hand, for best results I’ll be using my random, orbital buffer and following the manufacturer’s step by step instructions. I tried to use cut-up microfiber towels with my buffer but in the end I ordered pads (aka bonnets) to do the actual polishing.
