How to pick a puppy - Video 3: Puppy Aptitude Test - Video 1

This video covers one of the most critical aspects of picking your companion dog for the next probably 10 years. Buyers focus too much on the colour of the dog and who bred it and what its allegwed parents look like, because temperament testing is not fashionable in the Boerboel world. Owning a large dog with a bad temperament is a horrible expience which I do not wish upon anybody. Temperament is largely genetically determined and at 49 days of age, we can get a pretty good idea of how the adult dog will behave, excluding the influences of environment and experiences. It is possible, easy and cheap to test the temperament of a puppy at 49 days of age. The results have been tested and verified over many years (since the 1930s) and gives you a real probability of what you are getting in any specific puppy. This is the first video of a series of videos on the temperament testing of puppies..... by using the tried and tested Volhard Puppy Aptitude test. The second video will contain information on who can do the testing and the third video will show the tests, performed on a puppy I am going to keep. This will give me the opportunity to compare the findings in the adult temperament of the dog to the findings when it was a puppy.
