Nuphy Makes Switches? Gateron Azure Dragon v4 Taciles

The Azure Dragon v4 Tactiles, a short travel with a large tactile bump. Said to be similar to Gateron Type R Tactiles, but with a PC top housing to allow for a higher pitch, and clackier sound. Let's get down to business. The Azure Dragon v4 Tactiles from Gateron come in 10 switches in a pack, with each pack costing $4.99 USD. With most switches coming in, costing $3.50 a pack with 10 switches as well. It makes me wonder is the cost worth it? With the fact these are factory lubed, and quite consistently might i add, for a good set of tactiles i would say so. When i compare them to switches like the Bsun Ocean tactiles, I do think you could get a comparable experience, while coming in at a cheaper cost. The Azure Dragon v4 Tactiles have a very aggressive tactile bump, with an extremely short travel distance. Pairing this with the 22mm KOS Double stage extended spring, it creates a pretty heavy typing experience. While its nothing over the top, it is a tad bit to heavy for my taste, as the springs remind me of stock Cherry springs, but with a large tactile bump. Call me crazy, but i may have to spring swap these with something else that's more in tune with my preferences. The sound of the Azure Dragon v4 tactiles are decent. While the PC top housing is to create a clackier sound profile, I do still feel they have a sense of a deeper tone. When I first got these i did experience a slight leaf ticking issue, but after opening the switch and playing around with things. I don't seem to hear the ticking anymore, even with a switch held closely to my ear. Let me know if my ears are failing me, and if you hear any ticking coming from these switches. I feel on plates like PP, POM, or even PC, these switches can really shine. While they dont sound bad in a Carbon Fiber Plate, i feel these switches may fair from some foams, and the appropriate plate. While I've personally never tried the Type R switches from Gateron, these switches are a solid selection. I personally feel if you prefer a slightly higher pitch, it may be better to save some money and pick up the Bsun Oceans instead. I will say the Gateron Azure Dragon v4's remained fairly consistent with the factory lubing, and after a little bit of tinkering with the few switches causing some leaf ticking, the unwanted noises have seem to go away. As I don't have many tactile switches in the inventory, this gives me great hope that maybe things will change and that we can cover some more tactiles switches in the near distant future.
