Pratt and Kirk Thompson. They created an original and fresh band of contemporary pop/rock island music never heard in Hawai'i. Since 1982, Kalapana has achieved even greater international success as a quartlet with Bilyeu, Feary, Pratt, Gaylord Holomalia and Kenji Sano. Many things have changed in the past 25 years, but the music of Kalapana is still popular as ever. Songs like "Naturally" and "Moon and Stars" still touch the heart just as they did in the early days at Toppe Ada Shoppe and on that landmark day in 1976 when Kalapana and C&K (Cecilio and Kapono) played for over 30,000 people at Aloha Stadium. No local act, band, duo, or soloist has ever headlined a bigger local concert. They were the Beatles of Hawaii! This is Kalapana's first full-length video album. Originally broadcast in 1998 on television station KGMB 9, it includes interviews and live performances of all their classic hits recorded live in studio and on location at the North Shore of Oahu. It shares a bit of one of their Japanese commercials, some home video shot in Japan and a bonus song not seen in the original telecast. This timeless music is contemporary Hawaii. This is the music of Kalapana.
