Our tour through the Hotel Waldfrieden on the Weser River, abandoned for almost 30 years. The eventful history of the spa hotel, from 1936 until the fire in 1994, can still be traced in the attic. A fascinating collection of inventory and furnishings remains, inviting exploration. The outbuildings are crammed to the rafters with all sorts of odds and ends, from beehives to computers, from bespoke suits to food that's been rotting for 30 years – everything is still there! A quick note for those who might want to invoke the urban exploration code here: The hotel's exact address has long been publicly available online in several places! As sensible as secrecy often is, it's really no longer worthwhile in this case. In just a few years, the wooden ceilings will be completely rotten, so if you want to visit, you should do so as soon as possible. Even now, caution is advised in many areas!
