From the Millefonts parking area, the hike opens onto authentic alpine pastures and isolated cowsheds, testaments to an unspoiled pastoral way of life. The trail then climbs towards Mont Giraud (2,606 m), transitioning into a more rocky landscape, before reaching a long, airy ridge where each summit reveals a new panorama of the Mercantour National Park. Below, the Millefonts lakes appear intermittently, a silent thread throughout the entire traverse.
