In 1981, Sharron Davies was the co-star of "Sea Dreams", the pilot for the British TV series "The Optimist". Starring Enn Reitel, “The Optimist” features the comic adventures of a daydreaming everyman who inevitably finds himself in extraordinary situations - dreams played out in real life situations, that don’t always turn out the way they should. A touch of Jacques Tati, a pinch of Buster Keaton, an echo of Walter Mitty, the Optimist is the eternal romantic, even when the realities of life are stacked against him. Shot entirely on location in Los Angeles, London and Cabo San Lucas between 1981 and 1983, an ambitious British comedy consisting of 13 dialogue-free, self-contained stories, with extensive, original music scores. Until recently, the master tapes were thought to be lost. Now rescued and digitally restored, the ambitious series is intended to be released as a DVD / download release in Spring 2022 alongside distribution through international media platforms.
