Date taken: 09/05/2026 A SMRT Kawasaki-CRRC Qingdao Sifang (KSF) C151B train, 649/650, was spotted on the East West Line (EWL) on mainline daytime dynamic tests. The train was selected to be modified and upgraded with a host of new technical improvements, as the first Proof-of-Concept Train, and as part of the upgrade, its IGBT-VVVF traction system was changed to CRRC Times Electric's system, similar to Chinese metro systems, while the original motor from Fuji Electric is retained. #singapore #singaporemrt #smrtsingapore #crrc #smrtc151b Filmed with iPhone 15 Pro Max.
