Al-Anon 3 C's- Didn't Cause It, Can't Control It, Can't Cure It
We can make ourselves sick emotionally and even physically when we try to “fix” or “heal” the people in our lives — whether they’re struggling with alcoholism, addiction, or any behavior that is harming them. My own healing began in the rooms of Al-Anon and AA, alongside life-changing books like Codependent No More and the writings of Karen Casey. These were the first steps on a path that eventually became Soul Recovery — a spiritual process that weaves together the wisdom I gained in 12-Step recovery with deep spiritual practice and personal transformation. Through the lens of Soul Recovery, I share my experience of finding peace by letting go — inspired by, but not affiliated with or representing, Al-Anon in any way. In this episode, we explore the truth of the “3 C’s” — that we don’t cause, can’t control, and can’t cure another person’s unhealthy behaviors — and how turning our focus inward opens the door to profound healing.
