Full video available at https://www.eduflix.it During the 1960s, Italy underwent profound social and political changes; the city of Turin, in particular, was the scene of major transformations and participated in the epochal transition in a climate of strong contradictions. In 1961, the centenary of national unification, the city surpassed one million inhabitants, becoming one of Italy's major industrial centers. The economic boom, however, was followed by social tensions: in the factories, workers fought for wage increases, finding valuable allies in students, who demanded the right to education for all social classes. This desire for renewal fostered an unprecedented cultural ferment, which led to the emergence of a new front of intellectuals and artists.
