Bible Study: Romans 5:12-21 A lesson on Romans 5:12-21, in which Paul draws a precise analogy between Adam and Christ, showing that these two men are representatives of other people; that is, Adam was the representative of all mankind, while Christ was the representative of his elect. This Bible study is taught in person at the Philadelphia Reformed Church every Friday evening at 8:00 PM. "12Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned… 13For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed where there is no law. 14Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned by the likeness of Adam's transgression, who is a type of Him who was to come. 15But the grace is not like the transgression. For if by the one man's transgression the many died, much more did the grace of God and the free gift of grace come through the one man, Jesus Christ, abound for the many. 16Now the gift is not as it was through the one man who sinned; for through one man's transgression the judgment came to condemnation, but the gift comes to justification after many transgressions. 17For if By the transgression of the one man, death reigned through the one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. 18Therefore, just as through one man's transgression condemnation came to all men, so also through one act of righteousness justification of life came to all men. 19For just as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. 20The law entered in to increase the transgression; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
