61% of Albertans Reject Pipeline Subsidies, Poll Finds
A new Alberta poll challenges some of the province's most common political assumptions. Janetta McKenzie, Director of Oil and Gas at the Pembina Institute, discusses new polling showing that most Albertans oppose taxpayer funding for a new oil pipeline, support industrial carbon pricing, and believe Alberta's economy is too dependent on oil and gas. The survey also suggests many Albertans remain concerned about climate change and are open to federal intervention if the province fails to act. Key topics: • Opposition to taxpayer-funded pipelines • Alberta's dependence on oil and gas • Support for industrial carbon pricing • Climate policy and federal intervention • Economic diversification • The business case for new pipelines #Alberta #OilAndGas #Pipelines #EnergyTransition #ClimatePolicy #DanielleSmith #CarbonPricing #CanadianEnergy #EnergyNews #Canada
