Body Remembers - Fusion Dance - art project

The body remembers. I’m grateful to have once again worked with such a brave and open-hearted team during the Fusion Dance - Body Remembers art project. I’d love to share a our special creation with you. Throughout our shared dance journey, there was space for our traumas, our ways of coping, and the healing power of human connection. Working with the body often finds pathways to stories that words alone struggle to reach. Through movement, rhythm, and connection, we were able to experience what it feels like when being held and having the freedom to express ourselves coexist. It was a special joy for me that this time we could also incorporate one of my favorite art therapy tools, the experience of kinetic drawing, into the process. It was deeply moving to witness how new meanings and connections emerged through movement, traces, and attentive presence with one another. And the film team brought their signature sensitivity and creativity to create the authentic visual experience that gave this piece its full depth and atmosphere. Thank you, Melinda and Balázs! I experience again and again that art and somatic practices can be among our most effective companions on the journey back to ourselves. Sometimes, it already means a great deal to allow yourself to jump out, shake off, or dance through the tension that has built up inside you. Both your body and your soul will thank you for it.
