Feriado Municipal de Águeda 2026

The Municipality of Águeda celebrated the Municipal Holiday on May 24th and 25th at Parque do Souto do Rio with a diverse program that combined folklore, music, circus arts, and sporting initiatives, in a setting marked by the connection with the river and nature. The celebrations began on Sunday the 24th at 3 pm with the presentation of “Trocadilho” by circus artist Ariane Medeiros. This was followed, between 4 pm and 6 pm, by a series of presentations from folkloric groups from various regions of the country, in partnership with the ACR Folkloric Group of Vale Domingos (Águeda), including the organizing group, as well as Amigos dos Longos Vales (Monção), Rancho Folclórico Vale da Figueira (Santarém), Santa Marinha Prozel (Arcos de Valdevez), and Flores da Primavera (Caldas da Rainha). The following day, May 25th, the program began at 9:00 AM with the traditional pilgrimage to São Geraldo, part of a walk organized by the Águeda Municipal Center for Walking and Running. At 10:30 AM, the Eco-Rios 2026 took place, a kayak descent down the river, one of the highlighted sporting activities, combining sport with environmental preservation and the discovery of the municipality's waterways. The afternoon program included musical and performing arts performances, with a show by Moses Christopher, the circus spectacle "Nothing to Declare" by Nice Rocha, and a presentation by KIT Carlos. In addition to these initiatives, the event featured entertainment for children and other complementary activities, as well as various food stalls, reinforcing the family-friendly and festive character of the celebrations at Parque do Souto Rio. The Águeda Municipal Holiday thus reaffirmed itself as a moment for gathering and valuing local culture and traditions.
