Garratt Locomotive built by North British Locomotive Company returns to Glasgow
This film covers part of the journey of a Garratt Locomotive, that was built in Glasgow at Springburn by the North British Locomotive Company and then was exported to South Africa in the 1950s, and was returned to it's place of manufacture in Glasgow in 1985. the locomotive was purchased from Four One Six 0 Ltd by the then Springburn Museum, for display outside the museum.The museum was closed in early 2000 and the locomotive is still on show at Summerlee Museum Glasgow....... Some of the people who were involved in the making of this film, have passed away, before the film was finished, this film is dedicated to their memory.
