Back on the hunt for the invasive rosy barb… and once again, the rosy barbs clearly didn’t get the memo 😅 This mission had me heading out to search the same area again, hoping to finally track down one of these aquarium escapees in the wild. But as usual, the fish had their own plans and apparently no respect whatsoever for my filming schedule. No rosy barbs, no fish in the net, no dramatic captures… just me, a camera, and the crushing reality that wild animals refuse to perform on command 😂 That said, the trip wasn’t a total loss. While the rosy barb stayed hidden, I did come across more evidence of another invasive problem in our waterways — gold clams. Even though all I found this time were dead golden clam shells, it’s still an important reminder that these invasive species are out there, spreading through our creeks and rivers whether I catch something on camera or not. So while this episode might be one of the rare ones where I catch absolutely nothing alive, it still shows what’s lurking beneath the surface — and why these missions matter.
