With the MK90 you’ll see the optical tube assembly (OTA), a Vixen-style dovetail plate plus mounting base, lens cover, dust plug and some basic paperwork. I show the dovetail mount and note that it uses the Vixen-style dovetail plate so you can mount it on a variety of tripods/mounts. ----------------------------------------------- 🔍 Setup & Zoom Test I mount the OTA on a suitable tripod or azimuth mount (mentioned for portability). I show how easy (or otherwise) the mount/dovetail is to attach, and how stable the setup is. Then I insert the included zoom eyepiece (or any eyepiece I choose) and test the focusing. I remark on how the focuser feels: smoothness, fineness of adjustment, how the image comes into focus. I conduct a zoom test – that is, I start at low power for a wide field, then crank up magnification to see how the telescope handles detail and stability.
