Headless Heroics - Tale Of Kharag Singh

Lecture delivered at Sikholars 2018, at Stanford University, hosted by the Jakara Movement. Jvala Singh speaks about the Tale of Kharag Singh, a uniquely Sikh tale interwoven within the vernacular retellings of the Sanskrit tales of Krishna [Bhāgavata Purāṇa, specifically the Tenth Canto], found within the Dasam Granth. The tale is emblematic of the driving warrior spirit within the Sikh community, and may be a foundational text, setting the tone for future folk lore related to Sikh warriors, such as the tale of Baba Deep Singh.
