Zeminar Presents Jack Kavanagh | Fearless Like a Child

Last November Zeminar and Credit Union brought Jack Kavanagh and Rory Stories to a packed and excited audience at The RDS in November and for 20 minutes Jack held the crowd in the palm of his hand as he recounted his life before and after the spinal injury that changed his life. The power of this experience and more importantly, how Jack reacted to it, resonated deeply with the young attendees, their teachers and the Zeminar team. A spinal injury in 2012 left Jack Kavanagh paralysed, at age 20, from the chest down with limited use of his arms and hands. Defying the odds, Jack returned to Trinity College Dublin only one year after his injury where he completed his studies and qualified as a Pharmacist in 2018. Jack draws on the personal challenges he has faced in overcoming and thriving in the face of the perceived obstacles of a spinal cord injury. He challenges people to think outside the box, to face challenges and adapt by realizing they have the power to decide how to respond to life circumstances, by implementing simple strategies to triumph over adversity. Jack advocates for focusing only on impressing oneself and for each of us to become our own heroes.
