GCLS / LAMISTAD Conference - June 8-9, 2026

The African Light Source Foundation is now fully embarked upon developing a Conceptual Design Report (CDR) that will include capability, costs, and schedule estimates that will help African governments further develop detailed business plans and governance models for an African light source facility. This CDR development process involves dozens of colleagues on the continent and beyond, and is expected to take 1-2 years to complete. Our CDR process is open to all interested scientists, engineers, policy leaders and and others around the world. We are calling for whitepapers (Letters of Interest) on any relevant concept from the political, social and educational, to accelerator and specific beamline designs.
