Firewalls and Walls Built Against a Property Line
In this video I dig into the National Building Code of Canada - Alberta Edition 2019 to identify what a Firewall is, show examples and discuss where and when they are used. In addition to this I look at situations where a exterior wall is built right against a property line (not on the property line as shared wall but rather on one side single owned). We often build these walls against property lines as Firewalls, but sometimes not. While looking at examples I dig into the history, reasoning and options for this situation and discuss some insulating approaches to these walls.
