2026 Nissan Armada/Patrol Nismo - Sound, Exterior and Interior Details

New Nissan Armada Patrol Nismo More Powerful Than the Armada in America You'll have to move to the Middle East to get the more powerful engine. Nissan has been selling the Patrol Nismo in the Middle East for a decade, but the United States is only now getting an equivalent model: the Armada Nismo. This answers a question few people ask, as it's hard to imagine people lining up to put down a deposit for a high-performance version of Nissan's largest SUV. However, Americans appreciate the added variety, even if they have to settle for less power. The powerful Nismo boasts 460 horsepower, 35 horsepower more than the regular Armada, but the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine is even more powerful in the Middle East. Available only in the United Arab Emirates and other countries where the Armada is sold as the Patrol, the "VR35DDTT" engine produces 495 horsepower, a 35 horsepower increase thanks to "region-specific tuning". Both the Patrol and Armada versions retain the same torque of 516 pound-feet (700 Newton-meters). Nissan says the engine has been further improved "as a direct result of extensive customer opinions and feedback." Putting aside marketing rhetoric, we're quite confident that US buyers will also appreciate the 495 hp version. A spokesperson emailed Motor1, stating that the difference stems from higher-quality fuel from the Gulf region. In addition to the more powerful engine, the Patrol Nismo also features fog lights, a nod to the previous generation model. Nissan says the design is inspired by Formula E, but the US-market Armada Nismo opts for a simpler rear diffuser. Everything is essentially the same except for the emblems, as the SUV is referred to by different names depending on the market. The Armada isn't the only SUV to receive the Nismo designation. A few years ago there was the Juke Nismo, and now Nissan is offering the Ariya Nismo as its first model without an internal combustion engine. We hope the GT-R will return someday with a Nismo version, but a return of Godzilla is unlikely anytime soon. When it does return, it could come as an electric vehicle, especially considering the crazy Hyper Force concept. 📌 Instagram ▶   / medcars.tv   📌 Tiktok ▶   / cartvpress
