TIME STAMPS/CHAPTERS: 00:00 INTRO 00:13 HOW LONG I STUDIED 01:14 STUDY TOOLS: SAUNDERS 03:35 UWORLD 04:40 HOW TO USE UWORLD EFFECTIVELY 07:09 UWORLD PRACTICE TESTS/SCORES 08:07 UWORLD QUESTIONS & TOPICS 09:56 PHARMACOLOGY 10:17 LAB VALUES 10:31 DAY BEFORE NCLEX 11:15 NCLEX DAY 12:24 TESTING ENVIRONMENT 12:30 NCLEX TEST 13:28 SUMMARY SAUNDERS BOOK: -great for foundation/knowledge -review and reference book for chapters/units you don’t know well, i.e. heart rhythms UWORLD: -2 practice tests, 90 day (3 month option for $129) -take notes on the rationale and study them -study key points within the rationale since they are long -understand why the answer is correct & why the other options are incorrect bc this gives you info on other topics and explanations -select all that apply questions are important to do -50-100 questions a day is what I studied, originally studying one unit/system a day and then moved onto combining different units for variety of questions to mimic actual NCLEX -UWORLD SCORES/PERCENTAGES: -difficult questions, don’t be discouraged by 50-60%, its about learning from the rationale and yours scores will improve as you keep doing the questions -practice tests: 2: did get very high chance of passing ~80% -did the practice tests 2.5 weeks before and then 1 week before actual NCLEX date HOW LONG TO STUDY: -8 weeks, 4-5 hours a day, -give yourself 5-10 weeks to study because you don’t want to forget stuff from beginning, but depends on you -I did go back and reviewed some questions i didn’t know well PHARMACOLOGY: -only used UWORLD -Saunders has a lot of questions but UWORLD is overall better -know your LAB VALUES well! DAY BEFORE/DAY OF NCLEX -reviewed lab values -remember everyone writing the test is nervous, everyone is going through the same thing! -testing environment was nice, quiet & they give you headphones/ear plugs for noise cancellation NCLEX DAY: -75 questions, took ~1 hour -next morning at 4 am i got an email saying that I passed -take breaks if you need to! -I did not study on this day prior to my test -I tried to book an earlier time so that I was not anxious for hours until my test -bring your ID!
