Train spotting: MNL South Island New Zealand

While driving from Picton to Christchurch, I saw a train departing the same time a me. It was the perfect opportunity to see this part of the rail network in action with tonnage as my previous experience was on board the Coastal Pacific in 2021. This was just days after the Cyclone warnings that struck the North Island the weekend prior, and to get an absolute pearler of a day in a part of NZ I hadn’t driven, was an real treat. And the fact the road runs parallel with the service for so long, I couldn’t pass the opportunity to stick the camera on the roof and film.
