Yağız'ın inanılmaz değişimi: 5 yaşında 90 kiloydu, 11 yaşında 40 kilo

Yağız Bekte, who was born with a leptin hormone deficiency in Samsun and could not feel full, reached 90 kilos at the age of 5, but thanks to the treatment he received, he dropped to 40 kilos at the age of 11. The child, who once had difficulty even walking, can now play and participate in activities with his peers. Yağız Bekte, the second child of Sedat (44) and Sevda Bekte (35), who live in the Tekkeköy district of Samsun, gained weight rapidly from infancy due to a congenital leptin hormone deficiency. Reaching 32 kilos at the age of 1 and a half, Yağız was 37 kilos at the age of 2 and 55 kilos at the age of 3. The child, whose weight rose to 90 kilos at the age of 5, had to be connected to a ventilator for a period due to his excessive weight. Yağız's life changed with the positive results of the treatment he received, which was approved by the Ministry of Health. Starting in 2022, Yağız, who had been losing weight regularly, reached the same BMI as his peers at the age of 11, weighing 40 kilograms. For the first time, he was able to go out and have fun with his friends, experiencing the joy of participating in various activities. He also enjoyed the adrenaline-filled zip coaster ride, unlike his peers. "I couldn't walk because of my weight before," said Yağız Bekte, a 4th-grade student, explaining that he was very upset that he couldn't participate in activities like his peers because of his excessive weight due to an illness. "I used to be very overweight. Now I'm doing very well. I couldn't participate in any activities before. I couldn't walk because I was so overweight. Now my weight is fine. I couldn't do the things my friends did before, but now I can. I'm very happy about that," he said. "Yağız used to get upset and cry when he saw his friends, but now he can play on all the obstacle courses." Expressing that it is a great source of happiness for both Yağız and themselves that Yağız has reached the same weight as his peers, his father, Sedat Bekte, said, "Yağız went through very difficult times. He was very overweight. He needed special treatment to lose weight, and he is receiving that treatment. He has successfully lost weight now. He has started participating in activities like his peers. Yağız is about to turn 11. It's a wonderful feeling to see him like this. Before, we couldn't go anywhere, we couldn't travel. Yağız would always cry and get upset when he saw his friends. He would cry, 'Why can't I go?' Now it's a great gift for him. Now he can play on all the obstacle courses. Yağız's treatment will continue for control purposes. Yağız has been losing weight healthily since 2022. His Ministry-approved treatment is continuing well." It was learned that Yağız Bekte, who lives under doctor's supervision, will continue his treatment for life.
