I tested an electric bike with cheap hoverboard batteries. It did run, but the batteries, as expected for the low price, turned out to have half the capacity. This is common with cheap bikes. But something completely different surprised me when I decided to measure the capacity of these batteries by discharging them through a wattmeter and using a light bulb. I also tried using screwdriver batteries. I was pleased to see that they were actually high-quality and had a decent lifespan, despite being only 1.5 years old.
