This client decided to have his older Centurion D5 Evo sliding gate motor upgraded to a Centurion D5 Evo Smart sliding gate motor. The client contacted Smart Gates to assist with the installation of his new Centurion D5 Evo Smart sliding gate motor. The client supplied all equipment which was needed to install the gate motor professionally. The older Centurion D5 Evo gate motor was removed and it was found that the "steel platform present was skew and not well mounted onto the concrete ground track. Old steel base plates were just welded onto each other every time a new gate motor was installed. This new gate motor is the 4th sliding gate motor to be installed at the property. The steel platform which Smart gates provides was eventually welded onto the 1st steel base plate which was very well anchored into the concrete ground track. Steel angle iron was also used to weld the steel foundation plate into position. The new steel foundation plate was welded level on all axis, which makes mounting of the gate motor system much easier. The anti theft bracket ears were also welded to the steel base plate of the gate motor. The steel base plate was then welded into position onto the steel platform. this meant that the Centurion D5 Evo Smart gate motor was level on all axis and also parallel to the steel sliding gate. The steel platform and gate motor steel base plate system was painted to prevent rust from forming. The steel gate rail was then welded to the steel sliding gate. The start up sections was reinforced with extra steel angle brackets. The gate motor limits were set up via the mycentsys app. The electrical supply cable to the gate motor was run down a steel post with sprague tubing to prevent the electrical cable from external damage. A 15 watt siren system was also connected to the gate motor system, which will sound the siren for 20 seconds, should someone tamper with the gate motor system. This Centurion D5 Evo Smart gate motor runs off 2x 12 volt lithium batteries which is connected in parallel. The battery charging voltage was also set 14.20 volts dc. The gate motor system was tested and found to be working smoothly and properly, as Centurion Smart gate motors do!!!! Smart Gates are the only installers in Gauteng, which does repairs on site. Even gate motors are repaired on site. there is no removal for servicing by the manufacturer. All is done on site and this limits down time of your gate motor system. The spacing between the gate motor and steel sliding gate was set to allow for 30x30x3mm angle brackets to be used 500mm apart. The start up sections were fitted with extra brackets to prevent flexing of the steel gate rail. all of the brackets and steel gate rail areas were painted with primer paint to prevent rust from forming. All remote transmitterS were also programmed onto the system The client was advised how to use the app and how to place the gate motor on manual and back in gear. Client is very happy with her newly fitted Centurion D5 Evo Smart sliding gate motor.
